If a vehicle listing notes that the price excludes on road costs, the buyer may not be able to legally drive the vehicle on New Zealand roads without first having to pay additional fees or changes. Examples of on road costs are Warrant of Fitness (WoF), registration and licence, or Road User Charges (RUC) for diesel vehicles. Make sure you ask the seller what additional costs you will have to pay if you plan on using one of these vehicles on the road.
If a vehicle listing notes that the price has on road costs included, as a minimum, it needs to have a current WoF, a current registration, a current licence (for at least 3 months), 1,000km of Road User Charges (for diesel vehicles) and anything else required by law to allow the vehicle to be used on the road.
